Cycling proposals

Some interesting proposals for cyclists…
The UK has a National Cycle Network developed by the charity Sustrans. Route 1 is 1695 miles long and stretches from Dover to the Shetland Islands. It passes through Scarborough and currently the route has to go through the town centre.
The new proposals form part of a plan to enable the route to go along the foreshore and around the South and North bays.
Various routes will be signposted through the gardens, and cycle parking will be created.
But most significantly there is a plan to develop a new route through the Holbeck Ravine with a new section which will bypass the long flight of steps down to the beach level.
