Community Engagement Officer

There’s a Community Engagement Officer for the gardens project – Gemma Alexander.
Gemma has created a Facebook page which she will be using to advertise forthcoming events and activities in the gardens or relating to them, for adults and children:

Be sure to click the Like Page button above so as not to miss any announcements from Gemma about future events and activities.

Gemma’s involvement in recent initiatives includes The Big Garden Birdwatch and the Garden to Garden project.

Also have a look at some of the activity proposals that were published following a public consultation:

  1. Please can you tell me if we can access the gardens from Southcliffe and get down to the seafront with a mobility scooter . We used to often do this and now we are unsure if its possible

    1. Unfortunately the answer is no.
The main accessible route down through the gardens is from the Esplanade opposite the Ambassador Hotel and then down past the Clock Cafe to the seafront.
But due to the collapse of the beach huts below the Clock Cafe part of the path has been closed.
Repairs to this path by the council won’t be happening for a very long time yet.
      Sorry.
