Work has started on the area below the Clock Cafe where the historic beach chalets collapsed in March 2018. The site is being cleared and a new retaining wall installed. This work should be completed in about 11 weeks time (6th November). Unfortunately this does not mean that the chalets will be replaced any time soon. However the good news is that the path above the site will be reopened – this is part of the main disablity access route from the Esplanade to the sea front.
